Dr. Greg Gifford – Chair of the Department of Biblical Studies; Assistant Professor, Biblical Counseling
While Dr. Greg Gifford primarily teaches at the undergraduate level, he is also seen throughout the MABC program. Throughout his time counseling, he has gained hundreds of hours of training and experience. Alongside his work as a biblical counselor, he is also the general editor of ACBC’s publication, The Journal of Biblical Soul Care, host of his podcast Transformed, and author of his latest book, Lies My Therapist Told Me: Why Christians Should Aim for More Than Just Treating Symptoms.
Dr. Shelbi Cullen – Assistant Professor, Biblical Counseling and Women’s Ministry
Dr. Shelbi Cullen also teaches primarily at the undergraduate level, but finds herself as part of the MABC program, specifically supervising women as they complete the requirements to become certified biblical counselors. She also helps through the thesis process as students near the end of their degree. She is known for her podcast Women’s Hope, as well as her book Steadfast in Every Season.
Dr. Jenn Chen – Adjunct Professor, Theology and the Psychologies
Dr. Jenn Chen is a graduate of the MABC program, coming off of twenty years of prior experience as a clinical psychologist, giving her an expert understanding of clinical theories, neuroscience, and the DSM. She has also written the book Biblical Counseling and Mental Disorder Diagnosis as part of the Critical Issues in Biblical Counseling series.
Dr. Ed Wilde – Adjunct Professor, Legal Issues and Biblical Counseling
As both a lawyer and ACBC certified counselor, Dr. Ed Wilde brings a unique perspective on the legal side of counseling. He has also written the book Legal Issues in Biblical Counseling.
Dr. Keith Palmer – Director of the Doctorate of Ministry Degree
Dr. Keith Palmer is a pastor with thousands of hours of counseling experience. He now oversees the DMin in Biblical Counseling degree, which prepares both men and women to be future leaders within ACBC, as well as prepares men to be fellows at ACBC. He is also known for his book, John Newton’s Theology of Suffering.
Alongside these men and women are also Dr. Kevin Carson, Dr. Adam Tyson, Dr. Joe Keller, and Dr. Todd Sorrell, rounding out the MABC program with many hours of counseling experience.
