State Authorization
The Master’s University is committed to complying with all applicable state regulations regarding online education. Our online programs are designed to serve students across various states; however, please note that our institution is based in California and is not a participant in the State Authorization Reciprocity Agreement (SARA). As such, state authorization for our programs is determined on a state-by-state basis.
Authorized States
The Master’s University markets its online programs in the State of Alaska under an exemption from authorization pursuant to Alaska Statute 14.48 and related regulations, as these programs are delivered entirely online or via distance education, and the institution does not maintain a physical presence within the state.
Complaint Process: Students who have concerns or complaints with TMUO’s online courses or programs are encouraged to follow the procedures outlined in the

(3) Complaint Process: Students who have concerns or complaints with TMUO’s online courses or programs are encouraged to follow the procedures outlined in the Unresolved complaints may be brought to the Minnesota Office of Higher Education (see contact information above). Students in other states may contact their local state agencies to learn how to resolve a complaint or appeal a decision.
The Master’s University is currently in the process of obtaining certification to operate from the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia (SCHEV), in accordance with 8VAC40-31(A)(i).
Credits earned at The Master’s University (TMU) are transferable solely at the discretion of the receiving institution. Students should verify transfer policies directly with the intended institution.
